VR Tours

Businesses are only now opening up and getting out from under this past year and it’s still not over.  How retailers and commercial businesses conducted their day-to-day operations is not as it was.  For most, sitting back and waiting to see what comes next seems to be the norm.  Others have raised costs, cut back on personnel, and customer service – don’t get me started.  Blame it on a pandemic… that is the mantra we’ll be hearing for years to come.

Looking outside the box and changing a few paradigms is the smart step forward.  How people used to shop is part of the past.  New ways to engage shoppers and visitors to websites need to be well-thought-out.

Creating new content on your website should be a direction to consider.  I’ll bet if you asked, most individuals who set foot in your business have looked you up online first.  Research shows that 70-80% of people indicate that they check out before they get in the car.

Keeping potential customers engaged online is nothing more than providing them a means to participate.  Interactive Virtual Tour Photography is one way to enhance any website.

Retail

Pandemic, gas prices, and mask mandates have changed consumer shopping behaviors.  Whatever your brand, e-commerce is on the rise and brick-and-mortar businesses are suffering.  Today’s shoppers are tech-savvy and seeking innovative ways to shop.  Empower your business by enhancing your customer’s experience.

Hotel - Motel

If 100 % occupancy is your goal, showcasing your rooms and amenities is a must.  Don’t settle for two-dimensional images that come up short.  Consider the amount of information an interactive 360 virtual tour can provide.  Engage visitors with a VR Tour on your website.

Sample Tour

This tour, for the moment, is comprised of several unrelated 360 panoramas meant to showcase a small amount of the capabilities of interactive panoramas

Please feel free to explore the tour on your own or visit any of the other tours on this site.  Each tour is geared towards a specific market, and the functionalities are interchangeable.  What I have set up for a restaurant may be used to showcase real estate property or any other type of tour.

Navigating The Tour

This tour shows only a few of the elements and components that are included with this specific VR Tour.  To recap, the “skin” of any tour is the interactive overlay on a panorama that allows viewers to utilize the elements on the overlay of the panorama; open information panels, pop-up videos, music, individual images, information panels, and much, much, much more.

Active elements can be identified by a “hand” and/or change color when you scroll over with a mouse.  Elements can be opened/closed by “clicking” on the element, ab “X”, or as directed within the tour.

Responsiveness; comparability on computers, phones, tablets, search engines, etc., works great, but some smaller devices or off-brand search engines may have difficulty with interactive tours.

(You may wish to activate “Full-Screen Mode for a better view.)

Drop Down Menu (Top Left)

As with all elements, this menu is fully customizable.  All buttons will toggle the respective function(s) on or off.  The options in this  menu (top to bottom) are:

  • Panorama quick select. There is a checkmark next to the panorama if it has been visited already.
  • Toggle Full-screen Button – self-explanatory
  • Toggle Share button – for this tour share on Facebook, Twitter, or copy to the computer clipboard
  • Information Button – specific information for the current panorama (if info is available)
  • Map Button – for this tour, a Street or Satellite Map pin with the business address is available. Unlike other map services, this is specific to your business address without countless other Map Pins customers need to scan through and at a very attractive price point.  Why pay to advertise and show up next to your competition’s Map Pin.  This little function in itself can save a few dollars over the price of larger map providers.
  • Note that the Gyro/VR Button has been disabled on this tour.

Handicap ICON:

Toggle ON/OFF to view any accessibility information that would be good to know for customers.  Door widths, number of floors, elevators, restroom access, etc.  Can be independently added on a node-to-node basis.

First node:

  • The splash screen (optional)  contains general information for a business; address, numbers, reservations, etc. It is not a necessary element but some find it handy.  The “X” (top right corner) will close the element, and the “I” bottom right screen will open it back up again.  Note that you cannot control other elements when the splash screen is open.
  • Using the mouse or your finger, you can move around the 360o x 180o panorama. Scrolling down, there may be a camera tripod, logo, or some element that covers the tripod.
  • By rotating left or right, hidden elements will appear. For this tour, elements will show up between +/- 40o of the center screen.  There’s a “Next Node” button (flashing white) and a “PDF” (green) button at the front door.  Rotating further (left) there’s an “Information Pop Up” button (green).
    • Clicking on the info pop-up will toggle the element – in this case, the business operating hours.
    • X (top right) closes the PDF file – note PDF files can have as much or little user control as you want (e.g. printing, size, etc.)

Second node:

  • Nothing different here, there are wine and menu pdf buttons visible within 40 degrees center of your screen, and a “Next Node” button.  Again, the PDFs have as much or little user control as needed.
  • Movement to/from the next or previous nodes will show up as you move (rotate) thru the node.

Third Node:

  • This node has a couple of unique elements, the Nadir (down) has a custom info popup next to the “Mirror Ball”.  A corporate logo or another image can be placed over the tripod in the image or removed altogether in Photoshop.
  • Each beer tap has a unique info pop-up (red) with an image and text message. Double-clicking the image will enlarge the jpeg.  Don’t forget the 40o visual view range in this panorama.
  • The wine info pop-up works in a similar manner if you double-click the image. Close the image by clicking the X (top right)

(Keep in mind, except for a few elements, this is a simple (default) tour.  Customized tours can be intricate or simple.   Designs, layout, colors, and element information for any interactive tour are limited only to one’s imagination.)
